Well hello there...

It's Sunday again and we are heading into the 2nd week of school for Caitlin. We are slowing working out a new routine and I'll be glad once I feel comfortable and feel like I know what I am doing!!

A few things to show you tonight... **warning, photo heavy post**

First up the February challenge is up over at Craft Queen and this month there are 3 criteria.. The word "Love", The colour Blue and a button and here is my take...

I also made this card to go with it...

I also had the chance to play with this months ribbon club, can never go past a pink and brown combo!

Craft Queen also now have Maya Road ribbon and I got to play! - I just love love love the SRM stickers too!!!

and last but not least, just for fun, I had a great time creating with a heap of Prima and Craft Queen goodies... I just love the twineandcrochet-mirror-circles

There are also some My2Angels flowers in this too - they are a bit bulky, but I pulled out the centres and added the Prima pebbles and they came up a treat!

Every now and then, I just have to lash out and go Pink crazy... ahhh, now that feels better!

Bird is the word "Journey"

Well, another fortnight has rolled around and it's time for another BITW word challenge... this fortnight is it... "Journey" and here is my take.

This was such a fun day - I was surprised how interested Caitlin was at following the line and checking off each station as we went. Every time we stopped she would ask "Is this one our station?" :)We went up to the Museum in Brisbane and to SouthBank and it really was a blast for all.

and the cutest little flower things called Resin Cabochons - doesn't that sound fancy!! I got these from My2Angels. They are the little pink ones sitting in between my Prima pretties.

Bird is the word "Remember"

WOW Thursday already!!! I cannot believe how fast the weeks are going by at the moment... I seem to be super busy everywhere EXCEPT my scrap room I'm afraid.

Anyhow, enough whining from me, I do have a layout to share; this fortnights challenge at Bird is the Word and it's "Remember". I did a little switch and changed it to "Remembering" as I wanted to share a recent trip we made to Brisbane city to not only Remember the 2011 flood but see how the city had recovered.

Happy Birthday Caitlin!!!

WOW - What a weekend!!! Caitlin's 5th Birthday party was a blast!!

It was a fairy dress up party and the fairy was amazing AND the bunny is real . All of the kids were mesmerised!

Now... drum roll please... the cake!!! It was even better IRL - even if I say so myself!!

and it tasted delicious!!

I would love to know what she wished for...

and the cutest lil fairy dust bottles for the party bags... Bits and pieces are all from "My 2 Angels"

Did I say it was the best est day eva!! It was magical!

Bird is the word "Promise"

Well, first day back at work for me after New Years today and back to the day to day of things. Next big thing for me is little Miss's birthday this Sat and "the cake" - ohhh my the pressure!!! I will be sure to post a pic!!

Anyways, back to why I'm here, this fortnights challenge word for Bird is the word is "Promise"... and here is my take, which was just a bit of fun really.

Anyone who knows me will know that I just don't do diets... which is crazy because with everything else I am such a motivated person, tell me I can't do it and I show you I can!! Really, I'm the little engine that could... well except for dieting, for some crazy reason - I just have no will power :)

Happy New Year

Well Hello everyone... Happy New Year to you all. I have been enjoying a couple of long weekends pottering around the house, doing some spring cleaning, some shopping and some relaxing :) It has been good not to have much travel to do this year and just be at home. I even went 2 days in a row with no make up which is pretty rare for me!!

I have even been taking a break from scrapping. I have all too many scrappy friends over do it and wear themselves out by over committing themselves and turning this wonderful hobby into a huge pressure in their lives. Well, not me :) I have enjoyed the break too but I am ready to scrap again and have a stack of project ideas ready for this new year - not to mention a heap of new photos.

While I'm here, I did want to show you this sweet gift I made for a good friend for Christmas... I had to leave it until now just in case she saw the blog before it arrived!!!

I up-cycled a beautiful gift book from my local newsagent with a Sizzix die cut and some Craft Queen flowers and ribbon. The paper is Glitz design and the mist is Ranger Perfect Pearls and OMG I love this stuff!!! This colour is Sunflower sparkle but it's more gold then yellow...yummo :) and half the price of the Glimmer mist too!

Well Hello strangers!!

I know, I'm soo bad, not posting for soooo long - I am in the full Christmas swing and have been focusing on all the Christmas wonder..fullness...

Which kind of brings me to the latest Bird is the Word challenge word "Wonder" - that was a lovely seg way wasn't it!!:)

I don't think I'll ever get sick of doing pretty pages of my little one - they feel like home, so comfortable and easy. I really really loved this colour combo too, so chic!!

Bird is the word "Time"

How appropriate is this word at this time of the year!! Don't we all wish we had a heap more time in the lead up to Christmas??? So when I look at my layout for this fortnights challenge it gives me hope, and reminds me of a little get away we had not too long ago where I got to do the complete opposite to my "normal" world and waste some time.... My layout was also inspired by a quote I found..

“The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.”

New month, New challenge... December/January

Up for a challenge anyone?

We all know how crazy it gets this time of the year so this month Craft Queen have combined their monthly challenge into a Dec/Jan challenge. So, you have until the end of January to get your entry in. All you need is a Star, the word "Happy" and some Twine AND you can make anything crafty.
For something different, I've done an up-cycled bag from Typo - these are the best bags eva for this; they are a perfect kraft colour and there is no printing down the side to have to cover up :)

I also made a matching card but the photo doesn't show it very well :( Trust me, it's matching!!

The rest of the design team have been busy too so check out their work here.

Hello strangers....

Wow, time flies when you are having fun and November/December is crazy fun for me!! I'm exhausted and December hasn't even started yet!!!

I had to take time out of my busy schedule to show you all a few things :) First up my very first ever Card kit for Craft Queen is on sale from 6th December - it's classic black white and cream... very swish!

and a couple of layouts I did for a new local craft place including close ups - Lynda's Craft Haven. If you are a local, get in store and check them out. They have all sorts of pretties including these super pretty flowers and the latest release Kaiser ranges!! Yeah!!! The store has a real vintage feel to it AND they do Friday night crops... double Yeah!!!

and last but by no means least, I couldn't resist adding a new photo of Caitlin taken on the weekend. She has lived in this "dress up" and it is starting to get a little small *sad face* - I'm definitely going to have to Google a new one especially since she is having a fairy princess birthday party in January!!!...

I know I'm her Mum and all, but isn't she the cutest lil girl eva!!!

Bird is the word "Trust"

Well Hello there!

I know, it's been a while, the crazy season has certainly started in our house with graduations and xmas parties and some birthdays too thrown in for good measure!! All of which have dramatically impacted on my scrapping time!! Anywho, I'm not complaining one bit, I do love the craziness of Christmas, it is a very special time of the year for me.

So, onto the new BITW word and it is "Trust" and there was really only one way I wanted to go with this...I was super inspired by an amazing spiritual layout a fellow blogger friend of mine did (love u Sandi) and wanted to do something along the same lines... so here is my take...

Now, you may notice it is a little different from the version posted on the blog at BITW and that's because this is the 2nd version... I added some text and flowers as it didn't feel finished enough, but silly me loaded the wrong version onto the BITW blog!!! Whoops!!
My fav bit is the lace doily. It came from the $2 shop and was very gold... I just painted it cream really roughly over the top so that some of it would shine through and the ribbon is from my Mums stash... love you Mum :)

Hi Everyone,

Well, I feel like I've been living under a rock!!! I didn't actually know about the scrap the girls challenge blog until recently... where have I been???!#%....I had heard about the Scrap the Boys, but didn't put two and two together dir me!!
Any who, over the weekend I made a big effort to do some non DT scrapping and give the November challenge a go :)

Bird is the word "Adore"

Yeahhh, it's time to reveal a new word for Bird is the Word!! Up this fortnight is "Adore" and I have adapted it slightly into "Adorable" :)

I think this layout is just sooooo me right now, the bow, the lace and the flowers AND... I've been itching to use that chip circle border for ages - I've been saving it for a 'special layout' and it came up exactly how I wanted it (which makes a nice change!!!)....

Christmas Cards

Bitz and Bobs...

It's Friday!!!

Well, Sorry I haven't been around much of late, so much going on! We all went on a mini holiday down to Peppers at Kingscliffe and Byron Bay.. both were soo soo beautiful. We whale watched and relaxed by the pool and had a ton of fun!

A few pics....

My one purchase on our trip away a vintage tea cup... I just love pretty things and this one is no exception. The cup is filled with a soy candle in the most yummo smell.

Next up our first stop on the trip, a "proper" cup of Tea and cake...

and last but not least, Chris and Caitlin having some fun on the beach... He was more into it than Caitlin as you can tell!!!

Not too much to show you layout wise today, I haven't really been scrapping that much and the stuff I have done is for DT work. That won't change tomorrow either as I'm off to the Craft Fair with Mum. Can't wait!!! Come and say hi if you see me there, I'm always up for a chat!

I have just a couple of layouts to share today. The first is one I created for Craft Queen with this cutest lil rainbow (even if I say so myself) on it made from Satin Seam Binding.

Chris and the 2 big girls on Fraser Island - it wasn't the recent trip, but many years ago on one of the 2 visits I made to the island. I'm much smarter now and don't go!!!

Next is a layout I especially created to have a play with my Purple Pumpkin stash... YESSS, I did try out for their DT... but, no... I didn't get in *sad face*... BUTTT I did get a GUEST DT spot!!! Toot Tooot... so **HAPPY DANCE** indeed - Go me go me!! So very super dooper excited!

Bird is the word "Memory"

Yay, Friday is here, I have had such a big week but made time especially to finish off my take on the Bird is the Word Challenge "Memory".

I loved doing this word, the hardest part was choosing which one!! I couldn't go past my wedding day. It was a truly amazing day and we are coming up to our 10 year anniversary on 29th September - I can't believe it, the time has gone by sooo fast. This one also has some personal hidden journalling :)

and a close up... this is a Purple Pumpkin lollipop flower and I put kindy glitz over the centre for a little sparkle! Cute hey :)

also used some Kaiser, Jenni Bowlin and the pink flowers at the bottom of the cluster I cut off an old top!

A Quick Card...

Well it's Thursday already, Chris will be back in 2 days, this trip has gone by FAST!!

I had some spare time over the weekend and whipped up this lil card for a friend. I've used a heap of my dies for my Big Shot - just having a play with what fabric/paper works.

I just love the Prima flower centres and used them as inspiration for the main flower centre... I've used Kaisercraft pearls. The sentiment stamp is also Kaiser and the ribbon, Craft Queen.

Chris (my dh) is away on a fishing trip this week and I had the grandest intentions of scrapping until the wee hours... but it really hasn't happened. Instead I've been doing a huge clean up of my scrap space.. before he left we bought a big storage unit from IKEA and it looks amazing now but it has taken me ages to sort through everything!! For the first time in I can't remember all my layouts are in albums too!!! I have had the chance to do a couple of layouts but nothing I can show you yet.... sorry. I have had a great Friday night scrapping away whilst watching "In the city" (That's what all us mum's call it) but I stayed up WAY too late!! I've been making a card kit for Craft queen... here is a sneak...

Happy Fathers Day out there to all the Dads (Not sure that there are too many reading my blog though) he he!!

I did this layout of Chris and the girls, it's a photo from years ago that I keep putting off. (Not sure why - I think it's just because it's not girly) Anyway, if ever there was a time to do it, it was this week!

Blind scrap at Scrap Therapy

Hi Everyone,

I had a blast last night doing the Blind scrap challenge at Scrap Therapy. I didn't get a chance to do it live on Wednesday night, but they post the instructions so you can do it later... and here is what I've come up with...

I've used satin seam binding and the nicest string from Craft Queen of course!! AND more of the Miss Nelly range from Kaiser :)

Now, I didn't follow the instructions exactly mainly because there were tags involved which I really don't do... mine became paper strips (the blue ones).... I'm really happy with it and it is really a heap of fun.

It's been a while...

Happy Friday night everyone... my most fav time of the week!!

Well, it has been a while, but I finally have some more Kaiser work to share!! I was super excited to be asked to have a play with the new Miss Nelly range and the 3 drawer peg shelf - I literally jumped at the chance. It is now on display at the warehouse store in Robina so get in store to check it out; they always have a stack of bargins too so well worth a trip. They will not have this range available until November, however Nicole at Craft Queen does have the paper pads and journal tags available right now. This is one of my all time Kaiser favs! :)

Most Productive weekend eva!

Hi Everyone, Happy Sunday to you all.

I have had a very productive weekend indeed. First up I created my layout for Bird is the Words "Dream" challenge.

This one is a real mix of embellies, from A Lil Somethin and Purple pumpkin and Twiddleybitz chip and Teresa Collins too. Also, used some of Mum's ribbon and the cute lil paper flowers are Craft Queen.

I just love going back and scrapping old photos, my style has developed so much since this photo was taken and it's really good to get a mix of old and new in my albums.

I've also scrapped a layout of me, just because... with my op recently, it really got me thinking about the records I've left of myself for Caitlin and Daddy. I've also been journalling A LOT MORE on the back of my layouts for this same reason.

I've used Glitz Design paper, Kaiser, more Purple Pumpkin, Prima and Mum's ribbon. I just love these beautiful rich colours.

I also... (told you it was productive) did a layout for the Craft Queen Blog and have also FINALLY put away my layouts (about 30 of them!!) into their albums which was a job and a half!!!

August Ribbon Club

Happy Friday everyone! Ohh sooo glad to be up and in my scrap room again!! I have officially got the all clear to drive and things are returning to normal :) It's a new month and I was lucky enough to be asked to design the August Ribbon Club at Craft Queen; a classic combo of bright blue, green and orange - bring on Summer!!!

I also took a shot of my Purple Pumpkin goodies I won over at the birthday sale, you'll all be pleased to know it wasn't hard to spend my $50 gift voucher and then some!! You'll be seeing more of this on my layouts for sure :)

and last but not least, a couple more shots of my craft room. These are just a couple of draws, there is one more but it's a bit "junky" so I didn't take a shot of that. It has tape and Kindy glitz and some glitters and that's it.

First up is a heap of lil jars I got from IKEA which house all sorts of little embellies and things, all marked of course :) and matching...

2nd shot is just my punches, one draw for Martha and the other draw for all others... I've been teaching Caitlin which are which. You are never too young to learn to appreciate the wonder of Martha Stewart!! :)

Now off to have a play with the new Authentique range paper pads amongst other things...

Well I really didn't think I'd make this one but I did! I had 3/4's of this done and on my desk before my surgery adventure and now that that is over, bit by bit I managed to finish it off :)

Caitlin mixing up a storm in the kitchen; one of my fav things to do on a Sunday afternoon.

What an Adventure! and my RAK WINNER!!

Hi Everyone,

Well, what a week I have had. As you know last week in my post I mentioned that I had been unwell, I had caught Caitlin's flu. I was on the mend from that but just didn't feel quite right. Then on Monday night I started suffering from serious stomach pain, just out of the blue. Well, turns out my appendix was gangrenous and so I needed emergency surgery to take it out which happened on Tuesday afternoon. I spent Tuesday night in hospital and came home on Wednesday afternoon. Lots of bed rest and I'm now feeling much much better! It has been quite dramatic let me tell you!

Chris has been amazing doing all my jobs as well as his and Caitlin too has been the perfect little miss helping her daddy however she can. More bed rest for me and no driving until at least Friday next week!!! But, I think I'll go crazy before then! I'm hoping I can get back to work really soon but will just have to wait and see how I go.

Bird is the word "Today"

Well what a weekend I've had!! I've been house bound for 4 days straight. Caitlin was sick on Thursday and Friday. Friday night was FANTASTIC with me winning the Purple Pumpkin give away $50 voucher - sooo excited!! Then on Saturday morning, I came down with what Caitlin had and boy has it knocked me for a six!! I slept 13 hours straight Saturday night, had the shivers and all, it wasn't pretty!! Feeling better today but still not myself. Don't you just love kids and their germs ;)

Anyways, lucky for me I did this before I came down ill... my take on BITW's "Today" challenge.

Hopefully I'll be feeling even better tomorrow - just in time to get back to work!

A little of this and that AND a RAK...

Hi Everyone,

Seems my post about Mum's ribbon inspired a lot of chat and emails regarding my scrap space and organisation ideas; you are all keen to see how I keep things sorted. So I thought I'd post a pic of just one small part of my scrap space. It is actually our formal dining room, however we stopped having formal dinner parties in it long ago and I have slowly taken it over. We still have all the furniture so I've had to work around it. I scrap on the dining table which is in the centre of the room and I bought this Expedit from IKEA and it sort of acts as a room divider (the other end of the room is our formal sitting room which is now Caitlin's play area.) Everything is sorted by colour as I find I work best that way. The lil jars have all my small bits and pieces in them and the larger ones are all flowers. Colours are Pink, Browns, Yellows, Blue/Green, Red, Black/White/Metal and Purple. The draws are punches and other bits which I'll show you some other time... I'm thinking it could take a while to show you everything so I'll do it bit by bit. That way the whole room doesn't need to be perfect either, which it RARELY is!!

Purple Pumpkin Guest DT

Hi Everyone,

I'm very new to Purple Pumpkin, but when I heard they were having a Guest DT call out I could not help but give it a go! They have the cutest lil buttons and things... all so unique! All you have to do is post your favourite layout. I really wanted to choose one with Purple Pumpkin embellies on it (makes sense) but I only have 2 and I'm not all that keen on the first one and the 2nd one is submitted into the July sketch challenge!! So, here is my ACTUAL all time fav layout - it does not include any pp embellies, but it is my fav and was done in 2009 and I still love it!

Purple Pumpkin July Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone,

What a cold and rainy Saturday we are having, I guess all those perfect Winter days had to end some time :) Caitlin went back to Ballet this morning and it was a lil hard to get up!! I've had some time today to do the Purple Pumpkin sketch for this month and I made sure to have it uploaded before 22nd July so I can grab some FREE buttons with my next order... happy days!

So here is my take...

and some close ups of course of the cute lil purple pumpkin embellies.... The grey is not as dark as it appears in these pics; the weather is not the best for snaps of layouts!!!

Happy Sunday to you all... Seems this is my only real chance each week to blog, but hey it's better than nothing!

Bird is the word challenge is up again and this time it's "Admire" which I really struggled with for some reason!! I guess that's why it called a challenge and they cannot all be too easy!!

Purple Pumpkin Giveaway

I have a couple of things tonight to tell you about....

First up...Purple pumpkin are having a HUGE GIVEAWAY to celebrate their first birthday!! If you haven't seen Purple Pumpkins goodies before, they are definitely worth checking out... super cute lil buttons and stuff!!! Check it all out here.....

Secondly, a couple of layouts to show you... I've been playing around with using up some of my old stash and trying out some new ways to use my alphas, mainly as backgrounds etc. I got a heap done AND some DT work too!

The background for this one is rub ons; not sure if you can tell that well, perhaps I should have done a close up!! I've had these for AGES and never used a single one. So I worked on using all the letters I don't normally use like X and Y etc. I have decided that I am not a huge fan of the rub on :(

For this one, I've lined up the letter B's in a row so they don't look like B's any more but more like a chipboard strip/pattern :) The ribbon is Making Memories which I've had forever! I've also used some white larger letters as a stencil for the background. I made sure to "un-sticky" them first so that I could easily pull them off after I had painted over them.

More playing with the background... and a boy layout.. I know it's still has flowers but it's as boyish as I get!!

Last but not least.... A big welcome to all the new followers.. WELCOME :) I hope you find some inspiration here and I will be sure to pop by each of your blogs for a visit :) and a big THANK YOU to all the lovelies who leave me comments, they truly mean a lot!! You are all such sweeties!!!

Bird is the word "Amazing"

Happy Sunday to you all... what a glorious weekend we have had here on the beautiful Gold Coast.. 2 perfect winter days :) I haven't spent a lot of time scrappin this weekend, but I did seem to make the most of it... Here is the latest bird is the word challenge "Amazing".

I don't normally journal this much on a layout but I really wanted to tell this story and thought typing would be neater and allow for smaller text and more words :) I also got to use my new 3D Sizzix die which made the pretty flowers. I cut the pattern out first, then embossed them and then made them 3D.

I also did this one on Friday night just for fun... having a play with some of my new ribbon and lace. It's Caitlin all dressed up for her first disco, it was a summer theme :) Don't you just love the glasses!!

On my door step...

Wow, what a busy time I've had since the craft show.... it was sooo much fun.

I had to make time to post this one.... look what showed up on my door step!!!

My mum had this stash of ribbon and lace and beautiful lace fabric just hanging around the house; She is a quilter and lucky for me, she can't use any of this stuff, which was actually given to her.... can you believe that; how lucky am I! There were hundreds in here and all really pretty, sooo happy.... THANKS MUM!! It's now official, I have more ribbon than anything else in my stash and wouldn't have it any other way :)

Well, after 2 hours of sorting and pressing and wrapping I have done NO scrapping... BUT I now have this!!

Cool hey! They are just some Mens shoe boxes... I picked up 10 for $15 at Bunnings. They open from the top with a flip top lid, are see through and light weight... perfect.
I've also been playing a heap with my new big shot... it's really cool too, would definitely recommend one, it's perfect for what I wanted it to do. As you can see by the "after" shot above, I still do have my Making Memories slice which is good for paper but I plan to use my Big Shot more for fabric and chipboard.

Here is just a couple of bits I've done.... more to come I'm sure :)

Purple Pumpkin

Another new challenge for me and new products too! Purple Pumpkin make the cutest lil handmade buttons EVA!! AND now that I have some, I can enter their monthly challenge too!!! I also bought this cute lil doily which I have cut up into 3 bits!! One bit forms the strip down the bottom, the other the middle circle at the top right and the itty bitty centre bit as one of the flower centres. I've teamed the buttons with some of my gorgeous Craft Queen ribbon, yummo and flowers of course. I'm not sure if you can tell (and forgot the close up)I've added some eyelets on the left hand side, I'm trying to get them to make a come back!!!

Hi Everyone.

I've finally had a chance to upload my entry for the Bird is the Word "Life" challenge. My lil one has had pneumonia this week and is on the mend now thank god!! I just love this challenge blog... (link is on the left) soooo many inspiring layouts over there. I've also added a couple of close ups. I picked up these organza flowers ages ago and forgot about them; so pretty layered up with the Prima on top.

Happy Monday to you all, I hope you had a restful weekend and are ready for the busy week ahead. I have lil Caitlin at home today with pneumonia (of all things!!!) She is on strict instructions NOT to leave the couch which I've turned into a snugly bed. We are back to the doctors tomorrow for another check up to make sure the anti-biotic has kicked in. I did have a little time over the weekend to do a layout for you and it's a just because one. It's not for any challenge or DT work, it's just because :) I took these pics on my lil camera not long ago and wanted something cute and simple to go with them. I love the loopy ribbon around the middle flower but am worried that in 20 years time I may not remember what "besties" means??!!? :)

I'm so sorry it's been ages between posts, I have been scrapping HEAPS but I can't show you much... 2 layouts are going to be published in Scrapbooking Memories and the others are DT things. I know, it doesn't make for a very interesting blog does it!! But, very exciting for me :) I do want to show you some of the June ribbon club at Craft Queen it's a classic combo blue and brown and designed by me :)

Sunday Again

Sorry it's been so long since my last post, I've had a few blogger issues of late! AND, I've been super busy with a billion things (OK, well maybe not a billion) but boy have I been busy :)

Just the one layout to show you today. For the first time ever an ice cream truck came up our street. We have been living here for almost 10 years now and it has never happened so when we heard the music Chris and I jumped into action much to Caitlin's delight!

I had a play with stencilling on the background here which added a nice touch I think.

Also had a play with my leaf punch and cut around the outside for something different!

For those who don't know we are lucky enough in Queensland to have a public holiday today and Caitlin and I had a great day just hanging out at home. We are always so busy, it's nice to just "chill" for a bit. I have some more work to show you too; I'm really enjoying scrapping at the moment, I feel like I've hit my stride with pages actually turning out how I intended them! Also, wanted to welcome the new "followers" I have hit 10, who would have thought!!! Blind Scrapping in Therapy

Morning everyone, my lil one was up bright and sparkly this morning, so I'm up early too :) On Tuesday, I did my very first ever Blind Scrap over at Scrap Therapy and what a blast it was! You are given a bunch of instructions but not shown the finished layout. It's up to you how you interpret the instructions. We are all good to post them today for everyone to check out so... here is my layout...

Easter Sunday

Hi Everyone, Don't we all just LOVE a long weekend!! Easter is such a special time for me and my family and I hope you all have had a heap of time in your scrap space. I've done a couple of layouts and also found some time to organise some of my stash. First up were my ribbons, I have a few and they were all just shoved in a box which made it super hard to find the right one or see what I actually had! Well, now they are all colour co-ordinated and look great. For the smaller width ribbons I've just put into a cheap craft box from Crazies and for the rest, I've again sorted into colour and put into some 12x12 clip bags and then put them back into the IKEA box. I've found this way is great for storing wide ribbon and any that you have more than 1 or 2 metres of.

For now, I've kept the ribbons on spools as they are (in the bottom of the box) as I'm hoping to find some way to put them on a rail that does not need to be screwed to the wall (if anyone has any suggestions or web links, I'd love to hear them!!!)

Next up are the layouts, first one I've gone back to my fav colour combo; pink black and white (it is sooo me) and I always find scrapping in these colours so comfortable and easy.

and last but not least, I was having a play with some stencils and came up with this one. I can't help myself, I love pretty things!

I have a couple more which are "in progress" and I have all next week off too (lucky me) so will definately make the time to finish them off!

My most ambiguous blog yet!

Happy Sunday everyone... I have finally had some scrapping time and first thing on my list was April's sketch challenge at Anna's. Caitlin has been quite sick with Bronchitis but is now on the mend so I'm back scrappin again! This is one of Wendy's sketches and it came together really well (least I think so). I'm not 100%happy with the photo though, hubby bought me a new camera for my hand bag as my current one is a Nikon D5000 which, although fantastic, cannot go everywhere. Anyways, the new one is a Nikon CoolPix pocket camera which I plan to keep in my handbag, BUT I need to spend some time actually reading the manual!!

and last but not least, here comes the ambiguous bit... I've been doing some DT stuff for a certain someone??? which will be on display at the June craft show - Can you believe that!!! Anyways, I took this sneak peak and of course, there will be more details when the time comes.... Can't wait!!!!

A scrappy weekend

Ahhh.. Sunday is here and what a great scrapping weekend I've had. Went to a crop on Friday night which was super fun as always! (Too much talking though) I've spent the rest of the weekend working on a beyond the page project which I'm thinking about using for the Kaiser DT call out... hmmm not sure. I've also managed to whip up this layout of Caitlin using some more of my new Prima :) Just love this photo...

What a busy week I've had!! I had some work to do for Kaiser at Robina using the new Nans favourites collection and have to say love love love it! I didn't actually get a chance to take a photo though, so you'll have to get in store to check it out :) Tell em Gwen sent ya!! I've also had the awesome opportunity to work as a guest DT member for Craft Queen (huge thanks to Rachel who posted this opportunity on her blog)and I've had a heap of fun.. I will post these when I can; colour combo is not one I'd normally use, but will definitely use again, love a challenge!! So, no actual photos of layouts for you all today, but instead, I thought I'd add this hilarious shot of my dd on Crazy Hair Day, can't wait to scrap this one.

I love love love Fridays! It's really the one night a week I can sit down for hours and scrap, I can blog, watch utube videos and 'potter' around my room. Ahh the serenity!! Thank you soo much for your wonderful comments I really do appreciate your feedback. I don't have a huge real life scrapbooking network as I do almost all my scrapping at home - so it's wonderful to hear from you all! A big welcome to Melinda, thanks for "following" :) I have some more work I've just done this week. I am playing with some cleaner looks ATM and I'm working hard on using up my stash combining old with new. I just spent last weeks mortgage repayment on new release Prima which was delivered today and OMG it is sooo beautiful; I'm totally in love. You'll be seeing a lot more of this over the coming months that's for sure!!!

Layout Sunday

I know it's about time... but I do have some work to show you - a stack actually. First up is a layout I did with some Kaiser scraps. I had a bit of a go at a more simplified style... not sure it's me though! Think it needs some flowers or something???

This one is one of my new favs... I just love this swimsuit on Caitlin and took this snap on a recent trip to Daydream Island.

These shots were also taken on Daydream Island and I loved making the butterflies!!

Last but not least I was having a bit of a play with painted backgrounds and came up with this one. I've seen a heap of pages about mum's trying to get a photo of their kids and thought it was time I gave one a go so here is my take on that....

I've had some time to scrap this week - mostly till midnight :)and I feel ohh so much better for it! A couple of layouts including Anna's Feb sketch. I don't think I've EVER completed a challenge so quickly :) The other is a cute lil photo I took of Caitlin at the Melbourne zoo when we were there on holidays recently.

February already

WOW - what a beginning to the year we've all had, I can't believe we are now in Feb ALREADY! OK, so they are a month late.. I know, I know!! but here are my scrap goals for this year...

1. Has to be...Use up my scraps. So... I've done some reorganising and I've sorted all cut 12x12 pieces of paper by colour and whacked them in a couple of folders. I go to these FIRST before my 12x12 stack.

2. Is to make more cards. I was a card maker before I scrapped so it's about time a made a couple :) AND... it will help me to use up my scraps!!

3. Submit MORE. I keep track of all submissions and (drum roll please) last year I ran at a success rate of 5% which I must say I'm pretty happy with BUT, and it's a bit BUT, this year I'm gonna get into double figures.

4. The Organised Scrap space. There is nothing like a new year to give you a new lease on getting organised. So this year is the year for organising and re-organising things in my scrap room to get a space that I'm happy with. With Caitlin getting older too now, I'd love to move things around so she can have a little scrap/craft area near me so we can scrap together.

5. and lucky last, but not least... try something new! New techniques, new colour schemes and more. I do tend to sit comfortably in my style; so it's time to mix things up a bit!

New Kaiser paper blooms

Happy Sunday to you all.... time I showed you some of the beyond the page work I've been doing for Kaiser. I feel a bit odd about them actually as both projects do not have photos. It was quite nice to put my "crafter" hat on rather than my scrapping hat for a change...although I am feeling some with drawls. The first is a sewing box and the 2nd I've called an inspiration tree. It has one of my all time fav verses on it Desiderata. Think I need to do a layout now!!

Also have to say, these paper blooms are delicious! So easy to work with and gorgeous - going to get a pack of these in every colour!!!

What a whirl wind few weeks we have just had! We have been away on holidays watching the flood crisis unfold feeling so very helpless. We had a great time away, although watching the images on TV from a hotel room was quite unsettling. Thank God our families are all safe and sound; I feel so very blessed and my heart goes out to all that have lost loved ones, I cannot imagine how you are feeling. On a more positive note, I have been busily getting Caitlin ready for her last year of kindy as she starts prep in 2012. I've also started some BTP projects for Kaiser Robina and having a heap of fun with the gorgeous Kaiser paper blooms... very pretty indeed! ALSO..I have 3 layouts to show you, 1 is for Anna's Jan challenge, the other 2 are just because :)

Ok, I know I'm not Oprah but I love love love her "favourite things" shows. So, I was all inspired to do my very own version and let you all know my fav scrapbook things for 2010.... drum roll please....

1. Making Memories hands free kit - Not sure if they were released in 2010 but I got mine in early 2010 and I'm soo impressed. I love my slice machine and think it's totally under-rated... and going hands free has been cool as!

2. Echo Park - No, not the LA suburb, the company.. www.echoparkpaper.com they make AMAZING paper and stickets etc - super cute! Definitely worth checking out. Also, there is a new range coming "Little Girl" and I already have mine on advance order... CANNOT WAIT!!!

3. www.craftonline.com.au - If you're an Aussie you MUST check this place out. Cheap and super efficient service. I get my 12x12 Papermania Stack N Store boxes from these guys - cheapest on the net; and you can quote me on that!

4. The power of the 6x6 paper pad. I know, they've been around for ages... but I didn't realise (until recently) just how cool they are! I love layering paper and often only need 1 12x12 sheet of paper for a layout; the rest is bits and pieces, so they are a really cost effective way to get a great selection of paper from a range. My personal fav right now - My Minds Eye: Fine and Dandy. (No surprises there for regular readers)

and last but not least...
5. The Organised Housewife - Check her out on facebook, she sets challenges for de-cluttering, heaps of tips for Mums AND she's a scrapper!

Wow - what a whirl-wind December we have had! Can't believe 2010 is over and I am now nearing a full year of blogging. I've been thinking about some goals for the new year and will post these over the next few days, one will definitely be...Eat less chocolate! I have 3 recent layouts to show you all... the last one is the
December sketch challenge from Anna's Craft Cupboard and I've included the sketch as usual. The other two are both from our recent trip to Melbourne and they both use more of the My Minds Eye paper - Tickled Pink range which I love love love! I wanted to show you just how different they look even though they use the same range of paper.... cool hey!

Wow, can't believe it's been 3 weeks since my last post. I haven't been doing too much scrapping these last weeks as we are in full Christmas swing around here and seem to have back-to-back functions (lucky us!) I do love a Christmas party... Chrissy shopping is all done now so no crazy trips to the stores, just time to kick back, relax and wait until Santa's visit. I have taken some time out to work on the kits for December for Kaiser and have a little sneak peak below... be sure to come in store and check em out!! With the new year fast approaching, I've also spent some time reflecting on the goals I set out at the beginning of the year and I didn't quite get to all of them, though all in all I'm pretty proud of what I've achieved. Will definitely be posting this years, so more on that to come!
One is a hanging calendar which I whipped up in 2 hours and the other is a tree tag album.

I've had the chance today for some more scrappin in between running errands for Caitlin's up coming ballet concert.... Rehearsals, lining up for tickets, purchasing costumes/new ballet tights etc etc... and there was some mention somewhere along the line about a hair and makeup practice or something, note to self, better follow that one up! I think we've all forgotten she's still only 3! Still, she is super excited about it so that makes it all worthwhile.

Ok, enough of that, here is my take on Anna's November sketch... I do just love "pretty".

Another month is well on its way and I've just arrived home from a trip to Melbourne with my hubby and lil Caitlin. We had a lovely time but I did miss our beautiful November weather and no scrappin for 4 days solid - oh my! So, today being a home day I made the most of it and did a couple of layouts and here is one of them...it's my dh being silly with our Sam taking the photos.

OMG how I love this new range from My Minds Eye... it's called Fine and Dandy; Tickled Pink and I love love love it! I even got the 6x6 paper pack which I wouldn't normally buy and am soooo glad I did (more on that another time) ... it's all truly gorgeous...did I mention I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. The first layout of many!!

Hi All,

Well it's Halloween and actually my Mummy's birthday... Happy birthday Mum! I've been busy organising the kits for November for Kaiser Robina and they'll be in store on Sat as that's the next chance I'll get to drop in and here's a sneak peak...

There is also one more which is a x-mas tree tag album - which I haven't started yet..that's tonights project. Also, I'm teaching a kids class this Sat at 10am which is a cute teachers' thank you gift and we have a couple of spots left so if you want to entertain the kids for an hour or so call Kaiser Robina on 55809939 to book their spot.

It's 8:30 on Sunday night, I'm humming away to myself that classic WHAM song "when will I, will I be famous? I can't answer that.. I can't answer THAT"!! How on earth that popped into my head I'll never know... anyways, I'm working on some Kaiser kits thinking, does it need "glitterising"? hmmm, Of course it does!!! I think it's time for an ice cream then a lie down.

Well the rain has gone away, least for now... I'm making hay while the sun shines and took the lil miss to the beach today, it was beautiful. Also snapped my take on this months sketch at Annas Craft Cupboard. This one has something old (Queen & Co round alpha), something new (new Prima paper), something borrowed (the paper punch) and something blue (my mate bazzill)... hehe. Not a usual colour combo for me, but I think I pulled it off!

Rain Rain go away

I know we were all praying for rain not that long ago but enough is enough! Sure, I can scrap a heap but I can't get outside to take photos so that I can post them!! With finally a break in the weather yesterday I took a special trip home at lunch to take some photos. Both layouts use the same sketch but as they were in different albums I didn't think that would matter and it's amazing how different they look just with colour change. Got me thinking, we don't always have to re-invent the wheel!

Also busy working on the kits for November at Kaiser Robina and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.... stay tuned.

October classes at Kaisercraft Robina

Hi Everyone,

Another busy week... my little one is sick at the moment with a chest infection, poor thing. They are hard work when they are ill, but she's worth it. More antibiotics and she'll be good as new.

Well it's the start of a new month and that means a new selection of classes on at Kaisercraft Robina... starting with tomorrow, there are still spots available for "Summer Fun" double layout - Class starts at 1pm.

I'm also doing a beyond the page coffee table book that features all members of the family - Sat 9th October and on 23rd October why not join me for a double layout that will show off the superstar in your life. Classic pink white and black combo, you can't go wrong!

I'll scrap all day! Well, that was the plan, but it hasn't quite turned out like that!! My dh is away on Fraser Island camping to his hearts content while I'm staying "sand fly free" here at home with our 3 year old. For those of you who don't know me that well, I don't do camping. Truth is, I'm allergic to it... I'd like to go.. really I would... he he... but I just can't!!

I have done a stack of shopping including a very exciting trip to IKEA (love love love that place) and visiting and coffee but not a lot of scrapping as yet. I do have a stack of projects to finish off for my "bosses" at Kaisercraft Robina which I am getting stuck into. They are all X-mas things which must mean it's not too far away. Some of you will freak out at that, not me, it's my fav time of the year...I did also get a chance to do this layout of my lil princess who recently had her ears pierced... sooo grown up.

I smile every time I look over my latest layout...Not sure if you can really see but my lil Caitlin decided to make herself a beard of bubble bath bubbles so she could look just like Santa. Shots were taken in July (pure coincidence)and that's how we got X-mas in July!! It's been super fun over the past week to do some "free" scrappin. I've been super busy organising all my classes for September and October at Kaiser and had them done well and truly on time so I'm a free agent for the next few weeks.. BTW there are some ripper classes too, even if I say so myself!! You can call Kaiser at Robina to book (Gotta get my plug in!!)

Wow, super shocked my last post was so long ago... slack aren't I! Actually, I've been super busy setting up a new adventure with Kaisercraft Robina. I've got my very first teaching gig!! Super excited and I've been madly working on beyond the page items and double layouts gallore. My next class is Sat 28th August which is a double layout using Kaiser's "Play Time" range. I also have an Album class on 11th September at 1pm using the Funky hearts album using the "Sakura Park" range. I've included a snap shot of this one for you all to check out. Yeah!!! Finally a couple more layouts for you all.... The first one is my take on Anna's Craft Cupboards monthly sketch challenge and I've also included a shot of the sketch. Really enjoyed this one, loved working with the soft colours of the Devonshire range from Kaiser and the gorgeous Prima stickers, super yummy glitter. The second is a re-do of a layout I did ages ago... I know, I know, we aren't SUPPOSED to re-do them it's just the first one really sucked!!

Another Sunday afternoon is ticking by, Caitlin is still asleep and I've had some quiet scrapping time...ahh. I've definitely gone back to my roots with this one, stamping and a sweet pastel colour combo. I even took the pics which (even if I do say so myself) turned out perfectly!! This is right up there with my fav layout of all time!!

For all those wondering, no I didn't get chosen as a DT member for Kaiser (awwww) but whist I was initially disappointed, when I saw the work of the ladies chosen felt much better, they are truly awsome!! Definitely worth checking out the Kaiser blog.

Well, I just couldn't do it... it needed a title, at least, and then once that was in, it needed the journaling to help it all make sense... so, here it is again with the additions. I tried very hard not to clutter it up but the journaling was very long!! This is not the entire verse so I've cut and paste it here.... love this.

Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed of walking along the shores of different lands.
I could tell that You were with me by the footprints in the sand.
As I gazed upon the heavens, I saw pages of my life.
It was then I realized that You remained there by my side.
When the clouds began to gather and the rains came falling down,
I looked to only find one set of footprints on the ground.

Now I've googled it and from what I can make out, this is the song by Mark Hargrave but the original verse was by Mary Stevenson. I'm going to ask my step dad about this as he is an encyclopedia of all things music, he's sure to know!

Scrapbook Expo

Well, what a day I had yesterday at the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo! My feet are killing me but it was sooo worth it. I met Susan Longman over a bucket of Glimmer mist, had a great chat with the girls from Kaiser, did a class with Ngaire Bartlam and did a little bargain hunting with great results. I also checked out the new Big Shot by Sizzix. I already have a Making Memories Slice Machine so I'm not convinced I need one of these, but it is very cool and will cut chip which my slice can't do. I've had some time today to put together this layout and strangely enough, it is all from my stash, that is, nothing new from the expo (can you believe that!!). For me it was more about getting inspired and checking out some new techniques and products. Now it doesn't have a title or journaling which I'm really not sure about, but they say a picture says a thousand words and this is right up there with my fav photo of all time (big call I know!) So... at least for now I've let it speak for itself.
